Dear Applicant,

Thank you for expressing an interest in the Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Chief Executive role within the NHS Transformation Unit; this is an excellent opportunity to be part of executive team as we enter the next phase of growth. We are a forward thinking consultancy with the ambition and drive to be the leading NHS Internal Consultancy, supporting transformational change across the UK.

We started our journey in 2012 as a resource to support the Greater Manchester’s Health and Care Leadership in its flagship transformation programmes, and have a strong track record in Greater Manchester of achievement; developing new care and service models and programme managing whole system transformation projects.

From April 2016, we changed our business model to operate as an internal NHS consultancy, providing a range of services to health and social care commissioners nationally, specialising in large scale transformation.  We now have a customer base that is expanding across the country.

We hope that operating in this way will create a sustainable NHS resource that can drive and manage transformation at scale, reducing the NHS’s reliance on external management consultants and will enable us to continue to supporting the improvement of patient outcomes thus ensuring clinical and financial sustainability.

Life at the Transformation Unit is very different from either a typical NHS organisation or other consultancy firms. With the high level of freedom, trust and autonomy comes a high level of accountability. Everything we do is anchored in our new value statement:

  • We are People Focused

We have those who access and deliver health and care at the heart of all we do. We recognise, acknowledge and celebrate all contributions.

  • We are Driven

We respectfully challenge convention, ourselves and each other to excel. We have the strength, willingness and determination to make things happen.

  • We act with Integrity‚Äč

We act professionally with compassion, respect, responsibility and honesty. We do what is right and fair, not what is easy. We are accountable for all our actions.

  • We Empower our people

We actively support, develop and care for all our people. We value and ensure our health and wellbeing is our priority.

Most of our current commissions have been secured through recommendations and repeat business. This is due to our reputation for delivering successful outcomes and making a positive impact, which is why we cannot afford to compromise on the quality of people we recruit at every level.

Typically we recruit high achievers who are on the fast track to a future system leadership role or have a proven track record of delivery in a consultancy style business.  We want people who have the self-confidence, social skills and balanced outlook on life which enables them to contribute to the wider leadership of a growing organisation.

We are an ambitious organisation and are keen to recruit the very best to join our fantastic team. Although we’re on the road to success, this really is an organisation of opportunity and we are looking for a talented person, who is committed to our values, to further enrich and develop as we enter the next phase of our growth

We hope that this insight into who we are, what we do and how we do things, has inspired you to find out more about how you could play a leading role in shaping our on-going legacy.

I look forward to hearing from you.
